Dain is a member of the Council of the Riverlands and a notable character in A Death at Dawn.
Appearance and Personality[]
Dain looks more like a member of House Osmont than House Ayers. His skin is pale and freckled, and he has bright red hair. His eyes are green, his nose is long and thin, and he had a strong jaw like an Osmont. His mother always says that he reminds her of Lord Falk Osmont.
He is quiet, smart, and perceptive. He loves to read and spar using a warhammer; and is a brilliant archer.
History[]
Dain Ayers was born in Kingment, the Kingdom of Valley Pines, on the ninth day of the Harvest Moon during the four hundred and eighty-eighth year after the Secession of Man. Dain Ayers is the youngest son of the Lord Protector of the Riverlands, Jarin Ayers and Dimia Osmont. A member of House Ayers, he has one brother named Terryn Ayers.
After Dimia gave birth to Terryn during the New Moon of 488 SM, she leaves for Kingment. Within weeks of her journey, she learns she is pregnant with Dain. She gives birth to Dain in Kingment.

A Death at Dawn[]
Dain is seventeen years old in A Death at Dawn. Dain is first introduced when having dinner with Jarin while Jarin suffers from joint pain. Thinking that his father might die, Dain matures and tries to help his father with the Riverlands. Jarin later appoints Dain to the Council of the Riverlands. He meets Hamlin, Lysane Withers, and Ser Bronston Hedge, who are also members of the Council.
