The Arts is the ability system in the When the Fires Broke Through universe. The Arts are split into the Four Beings; the Nature, the Beast, the Arc, and the Darkness. Each Being is consider an element that is split into properties. Allure is the energy or stamina that surrounds a person. Everyone has allure, but not everyone can refine their allure into an Art. A person can master a property, but many in Mystos don't because they cannot practice the Arts outside of Lismure. Each continent in the WTFBT universe represents each element of the Arts.
Nature[]
The Nature is a nature-based allure found in some people. The Nature properties are fire, water, air, and earth. The Nature continent is Ihphy's Archipelago.
Beast[]
The Beast is an animal-based allure. The Beast properties are calid, pura, zephyr, and terra. The Beast continent is Nempur.
Arcs[]
The Arcs was heightened beings blessed by the gods. Titans, Valkyries, Giants, and Mermaids are examples of the Arcs. The Arcs can master both the Nature and the Beast. The average lifespan of an Arc doubled that of a human.
Humans rebelled in 1188 EAE, and the Secession of Man occured, creating a new era. The Arcs were hunted into extinction.
The Arcs continent is Mystos.
Darkness[]
The Darkness is a dark allure inhabited by those who have murdered an innocent. The innocent can be a human or an animal, but many choose to kill a human because the allure will be heightened compared to murdering an animal with low allure. The Darkness properties are fear, shadows, curses, and death. The Darkness continent is Eeccess.
It is stereotyped that everyone in Eeccess practices the Darkness, however only 2/3 of the continent practice the Darkness. The Darkness is outlawed in Nempur and Ihphy's Archipelago.
